Millennium
Has only just started and it is difficult to already give a good reflection. Key events of the millennium so far are, of course, the attacks on the World Trade Centre and the Pentagon in which thousands of deaths. That fear is a bad advisor is obvious. “Your safety” is systematically abused to stretch the rules and laws regarding privacy. An economically difficult time lies ahead; governments of various European countries are pushing their citizens towards accepting a joined Europe, but especially the young people of all hesitate to buy-in. An increase in Protest Demonstrations can be seen. A growing dissatisfaction with the consumer society (eg the Occupy movement spreading like wildfire over the world)
People are looking for warmth and cosiness again. Second hand is now called ‘vintage’!
